The Chicago trip is coming to an end. It's day 5 and we would like to go to the "gay area" but we aren't able to find it. So we do some shopping and Wallmart and walking near it we discover the Old Town: shops, cafes.... it's all we want.
Dopo pranzo ci dirigiamo verso il Lincoln Park, dove c'è lo zoo (gratis!) della città. Proprio a due passi dal lago Michigan...
After lunch we go to Lincoln Park, where there is a beautiful zoo (for free!) close to the Michigan Lake...
Come potete notare sono in tanti a passarsela bene in una della più belle città al mondo, persino gli animali...
As you can see everybody is having fun in Chicago, even animals...
Non abbiamo mai camminato così tanto come a Chicago, però ne varrà sempre la pena...
We have never walked as much as in Chicago, but there are a lot of things to see...
soprattutto se poi puoi "pucciare" i piedi nel lago Michigan, freddo come poche altre cose al mondo.
especially if we can "have a bath" into Lake Michigan, as cold as a few other things in the world.

e pronti per tornare al Navy Pier, dove tutto è cominciato.

Per cenare andiamo Bubba Gump (ecco, si pronuncia "babba" non "bubba"), la storica catena di ristoranti che scoprimmo nel 2011 a Monterrey, in California, dove non solo regna il pesce e gamberetti in particolare, ma ovviamente l'ambientazione è strettamente connessa a Forrest Gump. Un gran bel posto, che mai ci lasciamo sfuggire.
Ah, quando giri il cartello verso "run Forrest run" il cameriere sa che non hai bisogno di lui, quando giri il cartello su "stop Forrest" il cameriere viene a prendere l'ordinazione. Non è fanstastico?
For dinner we go to Bubba Gump, that we discovered in 2011 in Monterrey, California. All remind us to the Forrest Gump movie. When you turn the sign to "run Forrest run" the waiter knows that you aren't ready to order, as soon as you turn on "stop Forrest" he comes up to you to take your order. Amazing.
Ovviamente si va di gamberi...

Il giorno successivo, l'ultimo, ci concede una mattinata (prima di volare all'aereoporto) per le ultime passeggiate con annesse foto di rito. Fa anche caldino e tutte le nostre previsioni sul freddo polare che avremmo dovuto trovare vanno a farsi benedire. Il vento, quello sì, non è mai mancato.
The day after, the last, we do the last walks and take the last pictures. It' quite hot...
e intanto sale già la malinconia. Stiamo per lasciare quella che per il mondo è "the second city", ma che per noi è "the first city". Lo ribadiamo, solo San Francisco può toglierle il primato.
We are leaving "the second city", but for us is the... "first city".
