This is the last day in the American Southwest. We are still in Las Vegas, the third day in a row spent in the "sin city". Last day means whims and the answer to the question that you're probably asking for is always "yes".

Las Vegas è anche una città legata allo shopping, non solo nelle lussuose boutique all'interno dei vari hotel sulla strip, ma anche e soprattutto negli outlets. Il Las Vegas Premium Outlet fa al caso nostro, ci fermiamo ad entrambi: prima al "north Las Vegas Premium Outlet", situato appunto a nord della strip (dietro lo Stratosphere) e poi al "south", poco dopo il famosissimo cartello che vi da il benvenuto nella "sin city". Ed è proprio lì che, dopo aver effettuato gli acquisti, che siamo diretti.
Las Vegas is also a city strictly connected to shopping, not only because of the luxurious boutiques within the hotels on the strip, but especially for the many outlets. The best ones are the Las Vegas Premium Outlet North, located just north of the strip (not far from the Stratosphere), and the Premium Outlet South, located shortly after the famous sign that welcomes to the "sin city". We are definitely going there!

L'avevamo visto tantissime volte in tv, non potevamo davvero non perdere cinque minuti della nostra giornata.
We have seen this sign on tv a lot of times: a quick stop is what we are going to do.
Nonostante i soliti quaranta e più gradi ci mettiamo in coda in attesa del nostro turno: ad allietarla c'è un sosia di Elvis che suona e canta. Sì, siamo proprio a "Vegas".
Despite the usual 110 and more degrees we are in line waiting for our turn: an Elvis impersonator who plays and sings says that well.... Yes, we are right in "Vegas".
"Welcome to fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada", benvenuti nella favolosa Las Vegas, Nevada. Il cartello, realizzato nel 1959, ricorda come Vegas non sia una città come le altre. E, anche se lontana dall'America che piace a noi, è un luogo davvero unico al mondo. Come unico è "Whole Foods", il supermercato più bello, a parer nostro, degli interi Stati Uniti. Si può far la spesa sorseggiando un bicchiere di vino, non è fantastico? Anche la scelta dei cibi d'asporto già preparati è enorme: non possiamo non testarlo; quinoa per l'Ale, pasta fredda per Marco.
"Welcome to fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada". The sign, built in 1959, tells how Vegas is not a city like any other. And, although this city is far from the America we love, it is a truly unique place in the world. And unique is also "Whole Foods", the most attractive supermarket, in our opinion, of the United States. You can do shopping while sipping a glass of wine. That's amazing, isn't it? The choice of take-away foods is enormous: we are forced to taste it: Ale eats, cold pasta for Marco.
I più attenti avranno notato che all'appello manca ancora una parte importante di Las Vegas, downtown.
The most observant people will notice that one important place is still missing: we are talking about downtown.
Anche qui luci, anche qui tantissime persone e tantissimi casinò, ma un'atmosfera a parer nostro un pochino più triste.
Even here a lot of lights, people and casinos, but the atmosphere is, in our opinion, a little bit sad.
Freemont street è la via principale, una sorta di mini "strip".

Noi siamo qui perchè vorremmo visitare il Golden Nugget, hotel famoso perchè al suo interno è stato costruito uno scivolo acquatico che scorre all'interno di un'enorme acquario nel quale vi sono anche degli squali!
We are here because we would like to visit the Golden Nugget hotel, famous for its waterslide which flows in a huge aquarium with sharks in it too!
Purtroppo la "security" ci fa immediatamente capire che "da qui non si passa" e dobbiamo accontentarci di qualche foto da lontano.

Dovessimo tornare a Las Vegas però una notte qui sarà davvero un "must".

E il dolce? Le cose, quando si parla di cibo, le facciamo per benino: torniamo al Las Vegas Premium Outlet North e concludiamo il trip culinario con una cheesecake alla Cheesecake Factory.
And what about dessert? Well, if it's about food we always do the right thing. So, let's come back to the Premium Outlet Norh for the last cheesecake of the trip. Of course at the Cheesecake Factory.
Siamo in chiusura e proprio per la fine abbiamo lasciato la ciliegina sulla torta. Saliamo sulla torre dello Stratosphere (costo 20 dollari, gratuito se pernotti nell'hotel) e ci godiamo la splendida vista di Las Vegas dall'alto, mentre sono in tantissimi quelli che fanno su e giù dalle tremende giostre posizionate in cima alla torre.
It's almost the end of the journey: last but not least we get to the top of the Stratosphere's tower (it's free if you are staying at the hotel, otherwise it costs 20 dollars). What a beautiful view of Las Vegas, while many people are riding the most thrilling rides we've ever seen. They are located at the top, wow!!!

Finita? No, c'è un'ultimissima cosa. Rientrati nella nostra stanza mentre l'Ale è assorta nel caricamento delle sue foto su instagram, Marco salta fuori con un'esclamazione: "Era qui che volevi venire 4 anni fa e visto che siamo finalmente allo Stratosphere vorrei che fosse qui il posto che ti ricorderai questo..." Tira fuori una scatolina e "ta daaaannnn": ecco l'anello! Non era una sorpresa inaspettata, avevamo già deciso da tempo la data delle nozze, e, come ben sapete, l'Ale aveva già anche acquistato il suo abito, ma.... "Per fortuna me lo hai dato qui..in camera! Ho passato gli ultimi 10 giorni con l'ansia che avresti fatto la proposta in volo sul Grand Canyon, o sotto i raggi del sole che illuminano l'Antelope, o in altri posti affollatissimi dove tutti ci avrebbero visto e saremmo stati al centro dell'attenzioni rossi come pomodori!". Questi siamo noi..
p.s. by Marco - La verità che sull'elicottero non me l'han fatto portare e dentro l'Antelope con c'era tempo, la guida mi avrebbe preso per le orecchie se avessi fatto tardare il gruppo! Ti è andata bene...
Game over? No, it's not over, there is one more thing. Back to the room, while Ale is loading some pictures on instagram Marco says: "Well, four years ago you wanted to come here and i sayd "no". Now we are finally here and i want you to remember this place forever... this is for you". The wedding ring! Ok, that wasn't a surprise because we had already planned the date of the wedding and Ale bought her dress during the trip, but... "i've been spending the last ten days waiting for the proposal. Maybe at the Grand Canyon, maybe at the Antelope Canyon, while lot of people were watching us. Here it's better, this is us" Ale says.
p.s. by Marco - The truth is that i couldn't bring the ring with me on the elichopter and inside Antelope Canyon we hadn't enough time. Our guide would have killed me!!! You're lucky...
