I feel sLOVEnija - The green active (day 2, Vintgar gorges & lake Bled)

Secondo e ultimo giorno in Slovenia dedicato, anch'esso, alla natura che, come ormai sapete, vince in molti dei nostri viaggi. Superiamo sia Postumia che Lubiana, la capitale, e ci dirigiamo verso il nord dello stato. Verso l'Austra e montagne più alte, ma soprattutto verso Bled ed il suo lago. In estate i dintorni di Bled si popolano di tantissimi turisti, attratti dalle bellezze del lago e di una natura che non potrà lasciarvi indifferente.

The second and last day in Slovenia is a day in the nature that, as you know, wins in many of our trips. We are passing trough Postojna and Ljubljana and then heading to the north of the state. Towards Austra and the highest mountains, but especially towards Bled and its lake. In summer the surroundings of Bled are populated by a lot of tourists, attracted by the beauty of the lake and of a breathtaking nature.

Noi però abbiamo solo una giornata a disposizione e siamo obbligati scegliere tra le tante bellezze naturali che l'area può offrire. Tra il parco nazionale del Triglav, la grotta del Babji Zob, la cascata Pod Iglico, le terme (molto famose in tutta la Slovenia ed in particolare qui a Bled) e la gola di Vintgar scegliamo di visitare quest'ultima, situata a poco meno di cinque chilometri dal lago.

We've just one day to spend in this area and we've obviously forced to choose only one of the many natural beauties that Bled has to offer. Among the Triglav National Park, the cave of Babaji Zob, waterfall Iglica, spa (very popular in Slovenia and in particular here in Bled) and the gorge of Vintgar we pic the last one, just 5 km far from the lake.

La più incontaminata natuta di Bled è qui, nei pressi del villaggio di Gorje. Il fiume Radovina ha scolpito questa gola dai colori bellissimi, lunga 1,6 km, che si snoda lungo un percorso scavato tra i monti Hom e Boršt.

The most uncontaminated nature of Bled is here, near the village of Gorje. The Radovina river has carved this beautifully colored gorge, 1.6 km long, running along a path carved through the mountains.

Il sentiero, facile da percorrere, vi porterà sino all'imponente cascata di Sum.

The path, very easy, will take you till the huge Sum fall.

Il colore dell'acqua è talmente limpido che è possibile riconoscere tutti i pesci presenti. Una passeggiata nella natura di un'ora e mezza circa che non vi deluderà.

The colour of the water is is so clear that you can recognize all the fishes. An hour and half walk in the nature won't disappoint you.

Il lago di Bled è la prossima tappa. Il caratteristico simbolo dell'intera area è proprio il lago con la sua isola, dove un tempo si trovava il tempio dedicato a Živa, dea slava dell'amore, oggi al suo posto si erge una maestosa chiesa gotica.

Lake Bled is the next stage. The characteristic symbol of the whole area is just the lake with its island, where once stood a temple dedicated to Živa, the Slavic goddess of love. Now in this place stands a majestic Gothic church.

Noi però siamo in cerca di relax e troviamo un'area ricreativa che sembra fatta apposta per noi, dove poter fare il bagno e... lanciarsi in acqua da uno scivolo!

We are actually looking for relax and there is a recreation area that seems to be made for us. A place where you can swim and ... jump into the water from a water slide.

Ma se non ci fosse un po' di adrenalina non saremmo noi. E allora, dopo la classica "foto cartolina" con "vista lago" sul monte Straza...

But we actually also need a little bit of adrenaline. So, after the "postcard picture" with a beautiful view of Mount Straza...

...ci lanciamo verso valle con una sorta di slittino per la gioia dell'Ale...

... we took a kind of sledding. Ale is very happy!

Tornati a Lubiana, non ci facciamo mancare un'altra passeggiata lungo il fiume...

Back to Ljubljana, another walk along the river ...

la visita ai due ponti simbolo della città: il ponte del Drago, simbolo dell'intera Lubiana, ed il triplo ponte...

... a quick visit to the two bridges symbol of the city: the bridge of the Dragon, the symbol of the entire Ljubljana, and the triple bridge ...

...ma se siamo qui è anche e soprattutto perchè siamo alla ricerca di un ristorante dove sperimentare la cucina slovena. E tripadvisor ci viene in soccorso, suggerendoci il Hisa Pod Gradom Restaurant (numero 22 di 445), un economico ristorante non lontano dal centro. Cameriere simpaticissimo, piatti deliziosi: su tutti le melanzane al miele, la specialità della casa, ed il petto d'anatra con verdure. Sì, in Slovenia si mangia più che discretamente...

We are still are looking for a good restaurant because we would like to taste the Slovenian cuisine. Tripadvisor recommends the Hisa Pod Gradom Restaurant (number 22 of 445), an inexpensive restaurant not far from the downtown.
