Leaving Orlando our florida's "mini-tour" is officially starting. In a week we are going to visit Naples, Everglades and keys' island. The first stage is Naples, on the gulf. We want some relax after New York and Washington...
Abbiamo scelto di fare tappa per riprenderci dalle fatiche di New York e Washington, una sorta di mezza giornata (sì perchè lasciando Orlando di prima mattina arriveremo a Naples poco dopo pranzo) rigenerativa al mare molto easy. C'è la tranquillità che cercavamo e il mare, seppur abbastanza mosso, è letteralmente caldo come la vostra vasca da bagno in inverno.
We need to recover and Naples is the perfect place. Sun, hot sea and quite around us.
Dopo due ore di spiaggia siamo già rosso-pomodoro, che diventerà abbronzatura già la sera stessa...
After two hours at the beach we are red, but in the evening we are tanned...
quando in uno di quei ristorantini a buon mercato sul molo ci gustiamo una cena a base di pesce (in 4 non avevamo superato i 70 dollari). Calamari fritti per il trio Ale-Chiara-Raffo, zuppa di pesce e nachos per Marco.
We enjoy a dinner at the port: a lot of fried fish for 70 dollars (four people).
La mattina successiva ci svegliamo di buon'ora, ci aspetta un bel viaggio direzione Everglades prima e Key West poi.
The next morning we wake up early, a long trip is waiting for us: Everglades and Key West.
Prima tappa sarà il parco nazionale delle Eveglades che, come potete notare dalla mappa (in alto) è parecchio grande. Cosa sono le Everglades? Paludi, inospitali e inabitate. Dall'uomo ovviamente, perchè di alligatori qui ce ne sono a volontà. I famosi "gators", simbolo di tutto lo stato della Florida.
We stop first at the Everglades National Park, a huge park in the south-west of Florida. What are the Everglades? Swamps, inhospitable and uninhabited. There are a lot of alligators here. The famous "gators", a symbol of the entire state of Florida.
La strada, l'unica che costeggia il parco, vi porterà lungo le varie fermate dove potrete trovare varie agenzie che vi consentiranno di effettuare l'escursione della durata di un'oretta e mezza circa.
The road, the only one that borders the park, will take you along the various stops where you can find a lot of agencies that will allow you to make the trip into the Everglades. The excursion lasts an hour and a half.
Scegliamo la "nostra" e subito riceviamo il benvenuto dal primo gator. Adesso sì che possiamo dire di essere in Florida.
A gator welcomes us. Now we can say that we are in Florida!
Con l'airboat ci addentriamo nelle mangrovie, siamo noi turisti, il guidatore (e guida) e il nulla, tra alligatori, serpenti d'acqua e tutta la fauna che domina questo habitat.
With the airboat we enter into the mangroves: tourists, the driver (and guide) and nothing else apart from alligators, water snakes and all the wildlife that dominates this habitat.
e scopriamo, grazie alla guida, che l'acqua sarà alta si e no una trentina di centimetri.
we discover, thanks to the guide, that the water is 30 cm deep.
Dobbiamo ammettere che un filo di "paura" c'è, ma l'avventura (che ogni anno migliaia di turisti in vacanza in Florida non mancano di intraprendere) è incredibile, a solo un'oretta da Miami...
We have to say that we are a little bit frightened, but thousands of tourists every year face this amazing adventure...

siamo pronti a metterci in marcia. E' ora di pranzo e, dopo una veloce sosta da Taco Bell (il fast food preferito di Marco) ci attenderà un'ora e mezza su una delle strade più belle del mondo, la Us Route 1 che ci accompagnerà fino a Key West, l'ultima e più famosa isola delle Keys Island.
We are ready to reach Key West. It's lunch time and we stop at Taco Bell, Marco's favourite fast food. Then an hour and a half on one of the most beautiful road of the Us, the Us Route 1.
L'obiettivo è essere a Key West per il tramonto...
The target is to see the sunset at Key West.
e, dato che sono soltanto le 14, ci fermiamo ad Isla Morada (a Key West costano troppo gli Hotel) per fare il check in e goderci la piscina. Ecco, spendendo 30 dollari per la quadrupla ci dobbiamo accontentare di quello che passa il convento, ma almeno la piscina affacciata al mare si lascia guardare...
But it's only 2 pm, so we stop at Isla Morada where we are going to spend the night (in Key West hotels are expensive). Check in and a dive into the pool: the room isn't comfortable, but we pay 30 dollars. What do we want more than a bed?
Pur non essendo molto lontani da Cuba ed essere già in una sorta di "mare caraibico", dimenticatevi di fare il bagno. Manca la spiaggia...
We aren't far from Cuba and the sea is similar to "the caribbean sea", but we are forced to forget about having a bath into the sea. There aren't beaches...

Per quei due o tre che non conoscono Key West, è una cittadina rinomata per la sfrentata vita notturna, che prende il via con il tramonto in Mallory Square per poi proseguire nei molti locali del centro...
For the people that don't know anything about this place, Key West is a town famous for the night-life that starts at sunset in Mallory Square...
Noi, e sostanzialmente anche gli altri, siamo lì per quello... il tramonto. Purtroppo butta male, una nuvola oscura il tutto e non possiamo goderci del tutto il fenomeno, che resta comunque "amazing"...
