E' giunto il momento di lasciare, anche se solo momentaneamente, l'Italia e sconfinare nella vicina Austria, per l'esattezza nel Tirolo austriaco. Un'altra terra di bellezze naturali incredibili, di montagne tra le più belle delle Alpi e di tante, tantissime attrazioni per tutta la famiglia. Noi, appena varcato il confine del Brennero, abbiamo deciso di svoltare a sinistra e raggiungere la piccola comunità di Obernberger am Brenner, nel cuore dell'Obernbergtal. Il motivo è molto semplice, dopo tanti laghi alpini italiani ora è il momento di vedere se anche i "cugini" austriaci sono in grado di offrire gli stessi colori che abbiamo ammirato nei giorni precedenti visitando i laghi di Tovel, Carezza, Braies, Dobbiaco, Landro, Misurina e Anterselva. E la risposta, per quei pochi che avessero ancora dei dubbi, è ovviamente "sì", perchè anche l'Obernberger see non ha decisamente deluso le attese...

The time has come to leave Italy, even if only momentarily, and cross into the neighboring Austria, to be exact in the Austrian Tyrol. Another land made of incredible natural beauty, of mountains among the most beautiful in the Alps and many, many attractions for the whole family. As soon as we crossed the Brenner border, we decided to turn left and reach the small community of Obernberger am Brenner, in the heart of the Obernbergtal valley. The reason is very simple: after so many Italian Alpine lakes, now is the time to see if even Austria is able to offer the same colors that we admired in the previous days by visiting the lakes of Tovel, Carezza, Braies, Dobbiaco, Landro, Misurina and Anterselva. And the answer is obviously "yes", because even the Obernberger see did definitely not disappointed expectations ...

Lasciata la vettura nel parcheggio Waldesruh, fondovalle del Obernberg (Gereit 60a, 6157 Obernberg am Brenner) si deve camminare un pochino per raggiungere le bellezze del lago, un percorso che onestamente si è rivelato essere tra i più belli almeno tra quelli legati ai laghi alpini che abbiamo visitato.
IN THE OBERBERGTAL VALLEY THE MOST BEAUTIFUL ALPINE LAKE IN TYROL
Leaving the car in the Waldesruh parking lot, at the bottom of the Obernberg valley (address: Gereit 60a, 6157 Obernberg am Brenner) visitors will have to walk a little to reach the beauties of the lake, a trail that honestly turned out to be among the most beautiful among those linked to the alpine lakes.
L'escursione prende il via a ridosso del ristorante Waldesruth e, proseguendo in avvio lungo una mulattiera, conduce nella romantica zona protetta Obernbergtal fino al lago Obernberger See a circa 1.600 metri slm.
The trail begins near the Waldesruth restaurant and leads to the romantic Obernbergtal protected area as far as the Obernberger See lake at about 1,600 meters above sea level.
Una valle, la Oberbergtal appunto, che è uno dei paesaggi più belli ed amati del Tirolo austriaco, che ha come fiore all'occhiello ovviamente il bellissimo Obernberger See. Una volta raggiunto il lago, consigliamo di percorrere il sentiero che lo costeggia in senso orario (il giro del lago si completa in circa un'ora) , in modo tale da raggiungere in brevissimo tempo la cappella Maria am See, che fu costruita sul residuo di una frana rocciosa e che è raggiungibile attraverso una passerella. Da qui il blu profondo del lago è ancora più visibile...

Se state viaggiando con i bambini al seguito, una volta raggiunta Steinach Am Brenner, svoltate a sinistra lungo la "L10" sino a raggiungere il pittoresco villaggio dei mulini di Mühlendorf in Gschnitz. E' un veloce ma intenso viaggio nel tempo, all'ombra della "cascata di sabbia", che vi darà la possibilità di esplorare tutti gli edifici e parlare con le persone che in questo piccolo villaggio vivono e lavorano come 100 anni fa. Tra le tante cose che si possono fare, dalle 10 del mattino (con il bel tempo) si può potrete vedere come viene cotto il pane tradizionale della fattoria, o ancora visitare l'affascinante cascata Sandes (sabbia) grazie ad un piccolo percorso in loop di 20 minuti, durante il quale attraverserete anche un ponte sospeso. Noi invece siamo diretti a Innsbruck, la capitale e principale città del Tirolo. Non a caso definita "la perla del Tirolo", Innsbruck offre di tutto, da una città ricca di storia a tantissimi luoghi per gli amanti della natura. If you are traveling with children, once you reach the town of Steinach Am Brenner, turn left along the "L10" until you get tol the picturesque mill village of Mühlendorf in Gschnitz. It's a fast but intense journey through time, in the shadow of the "sand waterfall", which gives visitorsthe opportunity to explore all the buildings and talk to the people who live and work in this small village as they did 100 years ago. Among the many things you can do, starting from 10 am (in good weather) you can see how the traditional bread of the farm is baked, or visit the fascinating Sandes waterfall (sand fall) thanks to a 20 minutes loop trail. Along this small trail, you'll also cross a suspension bridge. We instead preferred to reach Innsbruck, Tyrol's capital and main city. Noi siamo capitati in città la domenica e, come si sa, la domenica in Austria, come in Germania, è giornata di di autentico riposo. Quindi i negozi sono chiusi, quindi anche molti bar e caffetterie sono chiusi, ma non per questo Innsbruck si è rivelata meno bella di quanto ci aspettassimo. E se siete alla ricerca degli 8 luoghi da vedere a Innsbruck, ecco la nostra personale "elite 8"...
1) Il lungofiume
Avendo scelto l'hotel a ridosso del ponte Innbrucke, lungo la via Innrain, l'esplorazione del centro di Innsbruck non può non cominciare dal ungo fiume Inn. Le case, colorate, della sponda opposta, sono da sempre l'immagine principe della città. La leggenda narra che tali colori furono scelti dalle donne che abitavano in questo quartiere che, stanche di aspettare i mariti ubriachi, le fecero dipingere con colori forti in modo tale che i rispettivi mariti non si sbagliassero. Al di qua del fiume, invece, da non mancare è la locanda più antica d'Austria, la Gasthof Goldenes Adler (Aquila d'oro):Ed è proprio qui che abbiamo cenato la sera...
We visited the city on Sunday and, as you know, Sunday in Austria, as in Germany, is an authentic day off. So many shops were closes, many bars and cafes were also closed, but that doesn't mean that Innsbruck turned out to be any less beautiful than we expected. 1) The riverside
Having chosen the hotel very close to the Innbrucke bridge, along the Innrain street, the exploration of downtown Innsbruck cannot but start from the Inn riverfront. The colorful houses on the opposite bank of the river have always been the main image of the city. Legend has it that these colors were chosen by the women who lived in this neighborhood who, tired of waiting for their drunken husbands, had them painted with strong colors so that their respective husbands were not mistaken. On this side of the river, however, visitors shouldn't miss the oldest inn in Austria, the Gasthof Goldenes Adler (Golden Eagle): this is where we had our dinner...
2) Tettuccio d’oro (Goldenes Dachl Museum)
Se le case colorate sono spesso il simbolo fotografico di Innsbruck, il Tettuccio d'Oro è il luogo più famoso della città. Rivestito con 2657 tegole di rame dorato, fu voluto intorno al Cinquecento dall'Imperatore Massimiliano I ed è di gran lunga l'edificio più rappresentativo della città di Innsbruck. Al suo fianco non perdetevi neppure il palazzo dell'Helblinghaus, una costruzione in stile di rococò.
3) Torre Civica (Stadtturm)
Costruita nel 1540 accanto al vecchio municipio, con i suoi 51 metri era ai tempi un gran bel vanto per l'intera popolazione di Innsbruck. La parte inferiore veniva usata come prigione, mentre in quella superiore le sentinelle vegliavano sulla città. Salendo i 148 gradini della torre, avrete una delle viste più belle sulla città e sui suoi dintorni.
2) Golden roof (Goldenes Dachl Museum)
If the colorful houses are often the photographic symbol of Innsbruck, the Golden Roof is the most famous place in the city. Covered with 2657 golden copper tiles, it was commissioned in the sixteenth century by Emperor Maximilian I and is by far the most representative building of the entire Innsbruck. Next to it, don't miss the Helblinghaus building, a Rococo-style building.
3) Civic Tower (Stadtturm)
Built in 1540 next to the old town hall, the civic tower (51 meters high) was at the time a great pride for the entire population of Innsbruck. The lower part was used as a prison, while in the upper part the sentries watched over the city. Visitors can climb the 148 steps of the tower and get one of the most beautiful views of the city and its surroundings.
4) Herzog-Friedrichstrasse e palazzo Hofburg
Lungo la Herzog-Friedrichstrasse, una delle vie più belle di Innsbruck, svetta il palazzo imperiare Hofburg. Costruito come castello nel XV secolo per l’arciduca Sigismondo “il Ricco”, è soprannominato “la piccola Schonbrunn delle Alpi” ed è tra i più importanti edifici culturali austriaci.
5) Hofkirche (Chiesa di Corte)
La Hofkirche è una delle chiese di corte più belle d’Europa, ma non fatevi ingannare dal suo aspetto esteriore non così appariscente. Questa chiesa viene anche chiamata “la chiesa degli uomini neri” perchè al suo interno ospita ben 28 statue nere che fanno da guardia al sarcofago in marmo nero dell’Imperatore Massimiliano I.
4) Herzog-Friedrichstrasse and Hofburg palace
Along the Herzog-Friedrichstrasse, one of the most beautiful streets in Innsbruck, stands the imperial Hofburg palace. It was built as a castle in the 15th century for Archduke Sigismund "the Rich" and its nicknamed is "the little Schonbrunn of the Alps": it's obviously also one of the most important Austrian cultural buildings.
5) Hofkirche (Court Church)
The Hofkirche is one of the most beautiful court churches in Europe, but don't be fooled by its not so flashy exterior. This church is also called "the church of the black men" because it houses 28 black statues that guard the black marble sarcophagus of Emperor Maximilian I.

L''Hof Garten, il bellissimo giardino all'inglese dell'antica corte imperiale, è il principale luogo di ritrovo degli abitanti che vogliono concedersi un po' di natura senza allontanarsi troppo dal centro storico. Durante i mesi estivi, una passeggiata lungo l'Hofgarten è davvero un toccasana.

Hof Garten, the beautiful English garden of the old imperial court, is the main meeting place and relax for locals who want to enjoy the nature without leaving the historical downtown. During the summer months, a walk along the Hofgarten is truly a cure-all.
7) Maria-Theresien-Strasse
Maria-Theresien-Strasse, cuore pulsante del centro storico di Innsbruck, è un must quando si visita la città. Qui si trovano alcuni dei palazzi più belli, qui si trovano i negozi più eleganti ed i bar più belli...
8) Arco di Trionfo
L'ultimo degli 8 luoghi da non perdere a Innsbruck è l'Arco di Trionfo (Triumphforte), situato alla fine della Maria-Theresien-Strasse. Il monumento, voluto dall'imperatrice Maria Teresa d’Asburgo, è spesso il punto di partenza o conclusione di un tour a piedi della città di Innbruck, per la quale dovrebbe bastare un'intensa mezza giornata.
