Mini Tour in Baviera (part 1)

Ogni occasione è buona per viaggiare, anche e soprattutto una partita del Werder Brema dove milita il fratello di Marco, Luca. E che partita. Già, perchè Bayern Monaco - Werder Brema è diventata anche il pretesto per un mini tour di tre giorni in Baviera (partenza venerdì 25, ritorno domenica 27 aprile): un giorno e mezzo nella sua capitale, Monaco, e l'ultima divisa tra il campo di concentramento di Dachau ed il castello di Neuschwanstein. Un racconto che divideremo in tre puntate...

Every occasion is good for traveling, even and especially a game of Werder Bremen, the german team where Marco's brother (Luca) plays soccer. And what a game. Yes, because Bayern Monaco - Werder Bremen has also become an excuse for a mini tour (three days) in Bavaria (from friday the 25th to Sunday the 27th of april): a day and a half in its capital, Munich, and the last one divided between the concentration camp of Dachau and Neuschwanstein Castle ...

Arrivati a Monaco nel pomeriggio di venerdi, dopo aver fatto check in in hotel (non molto economici, al livello di Parigi) ci dirigiamo immediatamente in centro e, ovviamente, ai mercatini (virtualienmarkt), il nostro posto. Tra prelibatezze del posto e oggettistica varia in un amen arriva sera.

Once in Munich (Friday afternoon) after the checking into the hotel (not very cheap, at the level of Paris) we immediately went to downtown and, of course, to the markets (virtualienmarkt), our place.

Prima di cenare però ci aspetta un bel viaggetto in metro. Usciamo, infatti, dal centro e ci rechiamo all'hotel dove alloggia il Werder Brema per salutare Luca.

Before dinner, however, a nice trip on the subway is waiting for us. We leave, infact, downtown and go to the hotel where Werder Bremen (and of course Luca as well) is staying. We all want to spend few minutes with him.

Torniamo in centro per la cena. Affollatissimo, come del resto lo sarà anche nei giorni successivi, e pieno di locali tipici. Noi un'idea sul dove cenare ce l'avremmo...

Let's go back to downtown for dinner. It's full of people and also full of typical restaurants. We know where we would like to go for dinner...

...l'Hofbrauhaus, la famosissima birreria dove Hitler tenne uno dei suoi primi discorsi. Sapevamo che ci sarebbe stata la possibilità di trovare il locale pieno (anche alle 10 di sera), ma così pieno non ce l'aspettavamo proprio.

...to Hofbrauhaus, the famous pub where Hitler held one of his first speeches. We knew that there would be a chance to find the room full (even at 10pm), but we did not expect so full. 

Veniamo rimbalzati e ripieghiamo su un localino proprio a due passi dalla birreria e vicino all'Hard Rock Cafe. Ovviamente Schnitzel e weiss bier per tutti.

We are forced to leave the brewery and go in another pub near the Hard Rock Cafe. Obviously Schnitzel and weiss bier for everyone. 

La giornata successiva è "game day" come si dice al di là dell'oceano, ma Monaco ha tante cose da offrire e la mattinata decidiamo di spenderla tra l'English Garten ed il centro.

The day after is "game day" as american people say, but Munich has so much to offer... so we decide to spend the morning among the English Garten and downtown. 

E' il polmone verde della città, il secondo parco piu grande d'Europa (per intenderci è più grande di Central Park) e qui troverete di tutto: da coloro che fanno jogging, un giro in bici, una passeggiata...

The English Garten is the green lung of the city, the second largest park in Europe (for example is larger than Central Park) and here you'll find everything: who is jogging, who is walking, who is riding a bike....

...e si, i surfisti. Già, ci sono anche loro, pronti a sfruttare le movimentate acque che attraversano il parco. Anche se poi la grande attrazione del parco resta comunque la Pagoda che la sera si popola di persone e diventa un pub all'aperto (bier garten). Il triangolo monaco-birra-giovani è inattaccabile...

And ... yes, surfers as well. They are ready to take advantage of the lively waters that run through the park. But the most important attraction of the park is still the Pagoda: in the evening is full of people and becomes an outdoor pub (bier garten). The triangle munich-beer-young is proof ... 

Il tempo vola, ma fortunatamente riusciamo ad avventurarci in centro (Marienplatz, la piazza dedicata alla madonna) proprio nel momento giusto. Sulla bellissima facciata gotica del Neues Rathaus, infatti, alle 11 (e poi anche alle 12) il Glockenspiel, l'orologio carrillon, comincia il suo personalissimo show. Le campane suonano ed i personaggi che si trovano sulla facciata iniziano a muoversi per la gioia dei turisti.

Time flies but luckily we can reach downtown in time. In Marienplatz, infact, at 11 am (and also at 12 am) on the beautiful Gothic facade of the Neues Rathaus the Glockenspiel, the clock-carrillon, begins his personal show. The bells are ringing and the statuettes begin to move... 

Ovviamente il pranzo "pre stadio", chiamiamolo così, è ai mercatini. Tra una bancarella e l'altra
 (compriamo miele e formaggio a volontà) e l'ovvio panino wurstel e crauti tra turisti e tifosi già in clima partita (ah ovviamente insieme, qui  non siamo in Italia...) siamo pronti a dirigerci all'Allianz Arena.

Obviously the "pre-game" lunch unch" takes place at the markets. Of course is a sandwich with sausage and sauerkraut between tourists and fans already with their mind into the game (oh obviously together, we are not in Italy ...). So we are ready to head to the Allianz Arena...

Siamo al pomeriggio della giornata di sabato: "it's game time"...

It's saturday afternoon, it means that "it's game time" ...
