We don't have big plans for the three full days we are going to spend in Miami, even if there is anyway something to see in this huge city. It's not a sunny day (at least in the morning), so we are forced to restrict the field of choice: no beach, no Key Biscayne... we can only visit two of the most distinguished and famous neighborhoods in America: you can compare them to Beverly Hills, Bel Air in Los Angeles or TriBeCa in New York. After the usual stop at Dunkin Donuts (but this time no Cronut!) for a donut: we also purchase our typical american lunch, fruit and something sweet.

A dirla tutta Coral Gables non è proprio un quartiere: pur essendo parte di Miami, infatti, è una cittadina vera e propria.

L'hotel, bellissimo famosissimo (non meno di 200 euro a notte il costo) e capace di accogliere personaggi del calibro di Al Capone, Bill Clinton e molti altri), si potrebbe anche visitare ma ci sentiamo in soggezione e preferiamo proseguire costeggiando il campo da golf che circonda la struttura. L'hotel è stato usato come durante le riprese il film Bad Boys e fino a poco tempo fa la sua piscina era la più grande del mondo
The hotel, beautiful and very famous (the cost is not less than 200 euros per night), has given hospitality to very important people like Al Capone or Bill Clinton and many others, has been used as a set for the movie Bad Boys and till some years ago its pool has been the biggest in the world. We would like to visit it but we feel in awe and prefer to drive along the golf course surrounding the hotel.
Ecco, se avessimo la possibilità di stare in un hotel "importante" a Miami non avremmo dubbi: "this is the place" come direbbe qualcuno: il Biltmore hotel a Coral Gables! E' mezzogiorno e decidiamo, visto che il tempo è ancora abbastanza inclemente, di spendere il pomeriggio al Dolphin Mall, il centro commerciale al coperto più importante di Miami. Il mall è a 5 minuti dall'aereoporto e sono in tantissimi quelli che, tra un volo e l'altro fanno tappa al Dolphin, ricordatevelo nel caso doveste trovarvi in questa situazione.
Well, if we had the possibility to stay in an "important "hotel in Miami our choice would be easy: this is our place, the Biltmore Hotel at Coral Gables! It's noon and, just because the weather is not very friendly, we decide to spend the afternoon at the Dolphin Mall, the most famous mall in Miami. It's just 5 minutes far from the airport, so this is why there are a lot of tourist here while they are waiting for their flight. If you are at the Miami airport waiting for a connection flight (just an example) the Dolphin Mall could really save you.
Il pomeriggio scorre via... intanto sarebbe anche il caso di farci vedere, dopo più di 24 ore che siamo a Miami, a South Beach che per tanti è tutto e per noi continua ad essere il niente o quasi. Parcheggiamo nel nostro fidatissimo silos a ridosso di Macy's e Lincoln road (3 dollari per quattro ore o comunque qualcosa di simile) e ci tuffiamo nella via più trafficata, insieme a Ocean Drive, di tutta Miami: la Lincoln Road.
The afternoon goes by ... now it's finally time to go to Sout Beach, a place that is evertrhing for many many people, but not for us. We park the car at our trustworthy parking close to Macy's and Lincoln Road ($ 3 for four hours or something like that) and dive into the most busy street in Miami with the "sister" Oceand Drive: we are talking about the Lincoln Road.

And even a lot of italian people. Even the italian hostess recognize us and try to invite us inside the various italian restaurants but we are not very "italian": an italian restaurant is always the last option in our agenda. Today our schedule says that we have to dine in Lincoln Road: but in our SHAKE SHACK!
