Finally a sunny day even in Miami. This is the perfect day for visiting the island of Key Biscayne, not far from Miami.

Prima però c'è un'altra tappa importante e che non ci porterà via molto tempo, anche se fatichiamo un pochino nel trovare il luogo che stiamo cercando. L'Ale sta aspettando questo momento da molto tempo, sin da prima di partire per questo viaggio: parliamo del B2 Studio Boutique, una palestra nella quale c'è anche il negozio di abbigliamento zumba di Beto Perez, il fondatore di zumba fitness.
First, however, there is an important quick stop: even if we struggle a bit to find it, we really can't miss it, beacuse Ale has been waiting for this momente for a long time, since before we start this trip. We are talking about the "B2 Studio Boutique", a special gym where there is also a clothing Zumba wear by Beto Perez, founder of Zumba Fitness.
L'Ale, da brava istruttrice e appassionata di zumba non sta più nella pelle... "Non posso essere a Miami e non andare in quel negozio!" ha ripetuto per una settimana.
Ale, as a good zumba teacher, really can't wait... "I can't believe it, i'm in Miami and i can't miss this chance" has said for all week long.
Il negozio è piccolino e mentre l'Ale prova ogni singolo capo esposto, nella sala di fianco si sta tenendo una lezione di zumba toning; purtroppo Beto non è in sede, ma solo l'idea di essere lì, nel suo negozio è un'emozione! Con un sacchetto pieno di nuovi acquisti e dopo aver salutato le ragazze torniamo alla macchina (l'Ale saltellando dalla felicità) pronti per andare a esplorare l'isola, collegata alla terra ferma da un ponte.
The shop is small and while Ale is trying every clothes on, a teacher is holding a zumba toning lesson. Unfortunately Beto is not here, but just the idea of being there, in his shop, is amazing! With a bag full of new purchases and after greeting the girls we get back to the car, ready to go and explore the Key Biscayne island, connected to the mainland by a bridge.
Paghiamo il pedaggio (1.25 dollari) e finalmente siamo a Key Biscayne, uno dei luoghi più esclusivi di tutta la Florida. Il nostro primo obiettivo è la punta dell'isola (a sud), il Bill Bags Cape Florida State Park, un'oasi naturale incontaminata a due passi da Miami.
We pay the toll ($ 1.25) and finally are in Key Biscayne, one of the most exclusive places in the entire Florida. Our first goal is at the bottom of the island (south), the Bill Bags Cape Florida State Park, a natural oasis untouched just few steps far from Miami.
Essendo uno State Park paghiamo la consueta "fees" (8 dollari per veicolo) e raggiungiamo il faro simbolo dell'intera isola. Costruito nel 1826 è il più antico dell'intera contea.
As a State Park we have to pay the fee (8 dollar per vehicle) and get to the lighthouse, one of symbol of the entire island. Built in 1826 it's the ancient of the entire county.
E lo capiamo quando decidiamo di salire fino alla cima: lungo le sue scalinate tremanti un po' di giramento di testa ci è venuto.
We realize that while we are climbing to the top: along its trembling staircases we feel a little bit of "light - headed".
Poi però la vista sul mare e, sullo sfondo, della città di Miami, vale l'avventura (gratuita).
But then, the ocean view and the Miami skyline in the background confirm that we couldn't miss it (the visit is free of charge).
We are here also because we would like to enjoy the beach and the sea: it's crowded, but we can relax and even see a starfish...
e diversi procioni che, attratti dai turisti, fanno capolino sperando di ricevere qualcosa da mangiare.
and some raccoons attracted by tourists and especially their food.
Lasciato il parco e risalendo verso Miami ci fermiamo ovviamente a Crandon Park, dove tra qualche mese e come ogni anno si svolgerà l'importante torneo di tennis di Miami.
Leaving the park and going back to Miami we stop (of course) at Crandon Park, where in a few months and like every year there will be the important tennis tournament.
Sui campi dove saranno protagonisti Federer, Nadal e Djokovic... ci siamo anche noi. Come spesso succede in America i campi da tennis sono pubblici e una foto sul "central court" è obbligatoria.
Here we are, on courts where players Federer, Nadal and Djokovic will play soon. As often happens in America, tennis courts are public and a photo on the "central court" is mandatory.
In un'oasi del genere, dove procioni ma anche iguana sono vostri compagni di viaggio, vien davvero voglia di fare sport.
In such an oasis, where raccoons but also iguanas are your traveling companions, you would really want to do physical activity.
Prima di lasciare Key Biscayne ci fermiamo proprio lungo il ponte che collega l'isola alla terra ferma per qualche foto con lo skyline in sottofondo, tra famiglie che, come spesso succede là, stanno preparando un bel barbeque e ragazzi che si rilassano.
Before leaving Key Biscayne we stop just down the bridge that connects the island to the mainland for a few photos with the skyline in the background: with us a lot of families that, as often happens there, are preparing a nice barbeque...
Incontriamo anche una simpaticissima coppia texana che ci racconta di avere amici liguri e si sorprende del fatto che a noi il Texas piaccia. "Non piace a nessuno" esclamano ridendo e noi rispondiamo che "dove si mangia bene non può essere un brutto posto". Marco aggiungerebbe anche che le donne americane più belle le troverete là, ma questa è tutta un'altra storia...
We also meet a very nice couple from Texas: they have some friends in Italy (Liguria) and are very surprised about our love for Texas. "Nobody likes Texas" they say while laughing, we answer that a "a place where you eat well cannot be a bad place." Marco also would add that you'll find the most beautiful american women in Texas, but that's another story ...
E' metà pomeriggio e, prima di tornare in hotel, abbiamo ancora un altra tappa: Little Havana. Calle Ocho è il centro di tutto, qui è sostanzialmente Cuba americanizzata: in mezzo a noi tantissimi cubani che si sono opposti al regime di Fidel. E c'è anche la "Walk of Fame" come a Hollywood.
It's mid afternoon and we have to visit another place yet: Little Havana. Calle Ocho is the center of everything, here is basically a sort of Americanized Cuba: among us many Cubans who are against Fidel. And there is even the "Walk of Fame" as in Hollywood.
Sigari e rum venduti nei negozi come se fossimo a l'Havana, ristoranti cubani e piccoli bar dove vendono "il miglior mojito".
Cigars and rum sold in stores as if we were in Havana, cuban restaurants and small bar where you can find "the best mojito in town".
The main place in Calle Ocho is Domino Park: here dozens of "old men" plays domino every day. We admire them while taking some pictures.
Tourists are welcome and all these old people are very friendly. Of course, as always, a polite behavior in recommended, escpecially when you are a guest.
Per la sera abbiamo scelto di tornare a Coconut Grove ed in particolare al CocoWalk, un centro commerciale non molto grande nel cuore del lussuoso quartiere di Miami.
For the evening we chose to go back to Coconut Grove and in particular to the CocoWalk, a small mall in the heart of this luxurious neighborood in Miami.
Saremmo lì perchè l'idea era quella di cenare alla Cheesecake Factory, ma l'attesa è lunghissima e la fame invece sta già bussando alle porte.
We are here because we would like to dine at the Cheesecake Factory, but there many people in line and hunger is already knocking at our door.
Optiamo allora per il vicino Duffy's sports bar, il locale più sportivo che abbiamo mai visto. Circa 30 televisori ed almeno 7-8 eventi sportivi trasmessi: il clou è la partita di football dei "gators", la squadra universitaria principale della Florida. Se non ve l'abbiamo mai detto, il tifo per le squadre di college non è minimamente paragonabile a quello per le franchigie professionistiche.
Then we opt for the nearby Duffy's sports bar. About 30 televisions and at least 7-8 sport events: the highlight is the gatot's football game, the college team of Florida.
L'Ale opta per il Mhai Mhai mini taco (stupendi taco di pesce), Marco per una tripletta di alette e cosce di pollo, una diversa dall'altra e una più buona dell'altra. Come sempre, la parte più bella della giornata è la cena...
