XMAS in Florida (day 4, Universal Studios)

E' il momento per l'Ale di riscattare il suo regalo di compleanno. Decisione molto difficile, ma visto che il Magico Mondo Disney nel 2014 è stato esplorato a Parigi, decidiamo alla fine insieme di visitare gli Universal Studios, fratello maggiore del parco Island of Adventure dove eravamo stati due anni prima.

It 's time for Ale to get her birthday gift. Very difficult decision... we did Disney World Magic in  Paris, so we think it's better if visit the Universal Studios, brother of the Island of Adventure park where we have been two years before.

E poi nel Village degli Studios c'è anche Bubba Gump, la seconda parte del regalo di compleanno dell'Ale, quindi non potevamo che scegliere gli Universal!

And then in the Village Studios there is also Bubba Gump, the second part of Ale's birthday gif. So we have to choose the Universal studios!

I biglietti li prendiamo direttamente alle casse del Parco, perchè nei "punti vendita" dei vari hotel sono decisamente più cari. Consiglio, se ci dovete andare, la cosa migliore è prenotare in internet, altrimenti direttamente in biglietteria. Non in hotel, a meno che vogliate pagare una quindicina di dollari a testa in più.

We purchase the tickets directly at the park. You can even purchase them in almost every hotels in Orlando, but they are much more expensive. The best way is to book them on the internet or directly at the ticket office in the park. If you purchase the ticket in the hotel you will pay at least 15 dollars more per ticket. 

Non vediamo l'ora di visitare il villaggio dei Simpsons, Springfield e la nuova attrazione dei Minions, personaggi dei quali l'Ale è innamorata!

We can't wait to visit  the village of the Simpsons, Springfield, and the new Minions attraction, the characters Ale loves!

Sappiamo bene che gli Universal Studios sono un parco a tema dedicato film, noi però non ne vediamo molti (anzi diciamo che ne vediamo non più di 2-3 all'anno), siamo più "animali da serie tv".

We know that Universal Studios is a theme park dedicated to the movies, but we do not see many movies (no more than 2-3 per year), we are " TV series animals"

Ci aspettiamo, come già accaduto due anni prima, attrazioni come roller coaster da spavento o attrazioni adrenaliniche simili, in realtà ce ne sono "uno e mezzo": un coaster che l'Ale farà da sola (come sempre quando si tratta di adrenalina) dove hai addirittura la possibilità di scegliere il brano musicale da sentire in sottofondo durante la corsa e quello de "La Mummia" al buio.

We expect, as happened two years before, to find attractions like roller coaster thrills or something like this, actually there is just "one and a half" coaster. Ale does alone the first one. You can even choose the music to be heard in the background during the run... the second one is "the mummy coaster", very very funny.

Il resto sono simulazioni in 3D o simili con l'ambientazione dei film da Herry Potter a Transformers, molto simili tra loro. Cambia solo la scenografia. Purtroppo non avendo visto quei film (e vi risparmiamo quello che pensiamo, ma conoscendoci lo starete immaginando...) e più in generale quel genere di film, capiamo che quel parco non fa molto per noi, eccezion fatta per Springfield, Shrek e Cattivissimo Me: insomma cartoni animati...ok, forse erano meglio Disneyworld e Epcot!

It's a little bit disappointing. There are just 3D simulations or movie set. For example Harry Potter or Transformers... the only difference is the scenery. We haven't seen those movies (and we save you what we think about them, but you're probably guessing ...) and understand that the park is not made for us, except for Springfield, Shrek and Despicable me: all cartoons! Well,, maybe Disneyworld and Epcot would have been better!

Nonostante tutto però è stata una bella giornata, ricca di emozioni, La Mummia l'abbiamo fatta addirittura 5 volte, perchè il vantaggio è che tutti i visitatori sono immersi nei film e le attrazioni sono quasi sempre senza coda.

Despite everything, however, has been a beautiful day, full of emotions, We did the Mummy even five times, because the advantage is that all visitors are involved in the movies and attractions are almost always without a long queue.

Siamo affamati e Bubba Gump ci aspetta! Come sempre in quel ristorante non sbagliamo! Ci gustiamo un piatto a base di aragosta ed uno a base di lampuga e come accompagnamento del pane all'aglio per una 40ina di dollari in due.

We are hungry and Bubba Gump awaits us! As always the choice of this restaurant is not wrong! We enjoy a dish of lobster and one with strange kind of fish and the garlic bread as an accompaniment to the dishes. Everything for 40 dollars.

Per la prima volta non dovremo aspettare la consueta mezz'ora buona perchè clamorosamente il tavolo è già libero.

For the first time we don't have to wait for half an hour to get the table!

Ci si chiudono gli occhi, siamo davvero stanchi. Lasciamo Bubba e rientriamo in hotel, dove però notiamo che la data di scadenza del nostro parcheggio è proprio quel giorno!
In primis pensiamo che la receptionist abbia sbagliato a scrivere la data e decidiamo quindi di avvisare in reception dellì'accaduto, ma siamo colti da mille dubbi... fino a quando riusciamo a catturare il wifi dell'hotel. L'Ale immediatamente apre l'applicazione di hotels.com, controlla ed esclama: "Eh no cavoli! Avremmo dovuto fare il check out questa mattina!". Ebbene sì, questa volta l'abbiamo combinata grossa.

Our eyes are saying "please, let's go to sleep". Leaving Bubba we come back to the hotel, where, however, we note that the expiration date of our parking is just this day! Firstly we think it is a mistake made by the receptionist and then we are ready to tell them about this... but we have a thousand of doubts ... until we catch the hotel's wifi. Ale immediately opens the application of hotels.com, checks and exclaims: "Ups! We had to check out this morning." Yes, this time we have done a disaster.

Ci immaginiamo tutte i nostri vestiti sparsi per il corridoio e, a dirla tutta, non è che la stiam prendendo benissimo. Cercando di mantenere la calma Marco in reception e dice: "I think we've made a big.." ("credo che abbiamo fatto una..."), ma non farà in tempo a finire la frase: "ah, siete quelli che non hanno fatto il check out! Non vi preoccupate, la camera è libera, potete stare qui anche questa notte, vi addebiteremo il costo dell'aggiunta sulla vostra carta di credito. Succede spesso". Insomma, bene ma non benissimo direbbe l'idolo di Marco Federico Buffa.
Imbarazzatissimi, cercando anche di trattenere le risate, ma anche sconvolti da questa dimenticanza e non riuscendo a capire (ancora adesso non l'abbiamo ancora capito!) come sia stato possibile che entrambi ci siamo scordati di lasciare l'hotel quella mattina, saliamo in camera.
La notte a Tampa è saltata (ma ovviamente è stata pagata) e domani il tragitto da fare sarà più lunghetto. Mettiamola così, la magia di Orlando...

p.s. la verità è che il più delle volte siamo "rinco...".

We guess all our clothes scattered around the hotel and, to be honest, we are not so happy about what we have just done. Marco tries to be calm and at the desk says: "I think we've made a big ..", but the receptionist doesn't allow him to finish. "oh, you are those who have not checked out! Do not worry, the room is free, you can stay here tonight, we will charge the cost of the room for one more night".
We are embarassed and don't know if smile or be upset and even now we are not able to understand why we both forget to leave the hotel that morning. The night in Tampa is skipped (but obviously it has been paid) and tomorrow the stage will be much longer. This is the magic of Orlando...

p.s. the truth is that sometimes we are too foolish
