La Baviera con un tocco di magia (part 2)

Lasciata Monaco di Baviera, c'è ancora una tappa prima del ritorno a casa. Avevamo, infatti, un conto in sospeso con lo splendido castello di Neuschweinstein, che l'anno scorso in una precedente visita avevamo soltanto ammirato da un centinaio di metri di distanza. Siamo nella bassa Baviera, a ridosso del confine sia svizzero che austriaco: un luogo incantevole... e non sorprende affatto che re Ludovico abbia scelto proprio questa zona per far costruire il suo castello...

Leaving Munich, there is one more stop before returning home: Neuschweinstein Castle. Yes, we visited it a previous trip, but this time we don't want to admire it just from a hundred yards away, we want more! We are in Lower Bavaria, near the Austrian and Swiss border: a lovely place ... and it is not surprising that King Ludwig has chosen this area for his castle ...

La cittadina di riferimento, ai piedi dei castelli, è Fuessen, distante poco meno di cinque minuti di auto dai parcheggi (a pagamento, 5 euro). Certamente, se state provenendo da Monaco, non vi annoierete: i panorami sono fantastici...

The most important town in this area is Fuesse, less than five minutes far by car from the parking lot (€ 5). Of course, if you are coming from Monaco the journey won't be boring: views are fantastic ...

Arrivati in zona biglietteria scopriamo che per entrare ai castelli (noi vogliamo visitare solo il principale, evitando quello di color giallo, nella foto) dobbiamo aspettare circa due ore. Si entra, infatti, a gruppi di una quindicina di persone ed il nostro turno sarà l'ultimo, quello delle ore 17.

Once we find the tickets area (we want to see just the main castle, avoiding the yellow one) we discover that we have to wait about two hours.There are a lot of tourist and, and the visit is scheduled in this way: a group of fifteen people every 5 minutes and our turn will be the last, at 5pm.

Questa volta però. a differenza di quanto accaduto ad aprile, la giornata è fantastica e le due orette di attesa volano letteralmente, tra la visita ai negozi di souvenir e la passeggiata vicino al lago.

It doesn't matter. It's a beautiful day and we spend two hours visiting all the souvenirs shop and the beautiful lake.

Per raggiungere il "famoso" castello che ha ispirato Walt Disney abbiamo a disposizione tre possibilità: a piedi (ma è quasi un'ora di camminata in salita) oppure con pulman o carrozza. Scegliamo il più conveniente, il pulman ovviamente... che ci porta a ridosso dell'altrettanto famoso ponte, il quale regala una splendida vista sul castello.

To get to the "famous" castle that inspired Walt Disney we have three options: walk (but it's almost an hour) or by bus or coach. We choose the most convenient, the bus of course ... which take us close to the famous bridge, which offers a beautiful view of the castle. 

E' abbastanza pericolante, ma non si può non fermarsi per scattare qualche fotografia.

It is quite unsafe, but we are forced to stop here and take some pictures with the castle in the background.

Dal ponte al castello c'è una quindicina di minuti buoni di camminata. Giunti davanti all'entrata scorgiamo il ponte dal quale qualche minuto prima stavamo ammirando il castello...


From the bridge to the castleyou have to walk for fifteen minutes more or less. When we reach the entrance we see the bridge from which (a few minutes before) we were admiring the castle...

e, quando giunge il nostro turno e, riceviamo l'audioguida (gratuita) in italiano e siamo pronti per la visita.

and, when it comes our turn, we get the audio guide (free of charge) in Italian language and we are finally ready to visit the castle.

La visita dura una circa trenta minuti e vi porterà dalla sala del trono (dove appeso al soffitto c'è un lampadario che riporta a quello del film "La bella e la bestia") che non fu ultimato perchè il re morì prima di far mettere il trono, alla sala da ballo, enorme con file di candelabri sui lati e lampadari a candele, in tutto sono 600. La mente, soprattutto quella dell'Ale, inizia a fantasticare sul mondo disney: Aurora (La bella addormentata) che balla con il principe e le 3 fatine che le cambiano il colore dell'abito..

The tour lasts about thirty minutes and will take you from the throne room (where there is a chandelier hanging from the ceiling, the same as the "Beauty and the Beast" one), which was not completed because of king's dead, to the ballroom with its candelabrums and candles' chandelier (tot. 600 candles in that room). Our mind, especially Ale's one, begins to fantasize about the disney world: Aurora (the sleeping beauty) and its prince, and the 3 fairies which change the dress clolour...

All'interno del castello non è possibile scattare foto, ma forse è meglio così. Senza immagini, è la fantasia a prendere potere... e anche a noi, che non siamo proprio appassionatissimi di storia, per mezz'ora siamo entrati un'altra dimensione...

Inside the castle taking pictures is forbidden. but maybe it's better. Without images, imagination takes the lead...
