Luoghi da sogno: la nostra "top 20" (posizione 3)

POS. 3: GRAND PRISMATIC - YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK

Siamo finalmente sul podio. E che podio. Già, perchè se da una parte la scelta non è stata affatto semplice, dall'altra siamo convinti che rispecchi fedelmente le emozioni che abbiamo provato visitando questi tre incantevoli luoghi e il solo tornare con la mente lì fa nascere in noi un'immensa voglia di tornarci. Sul gradino più basso c'è il parco più famoso al mondo, Yellowstone, che ogni anno accoglie più di tre milioni di visitatori all'interno dei suoi 9.000 chilometri quadrati.

We finally are on the podium. What a podium. Yes, because on one hand the choice was not easy at all, on the other hand we believe that it  truly reflects the emotions we felt visiting these three beautiful places and just the memories give us a great desire to come back. At number 3 there is the most famous park in the world, Yellowstone, which each year welcomes more than three million visitors within its 9000 km2.

Situato per buona parte nel Wyoming (ma tocca anche altri due stati, Montana e Idaho), Yellowstone è. semplicemente... Yellowstone, il primo parco nazionale al mondo, fondato addirittura nel 1872.

Sì, lo sappiamo, pur nella sua bellezza stordente, non è il primo luogo che il classico turista colleghi agli Stati Uniti (New York, la California, i parchi del west e la Florida vengono sicuramente prima...) perchè non facile da raggiungere, ma almeno una volta nella vita andrebbe visitato.

Yes, we know that, despite its beauty stun, Yellowstone is not the first place visited by the "classic" tourist (New York, California, the parks of the West and Florida come definitely before Yellowstone...) because is not easy to achieve. But at least once in a lifetime it should be visited.

E sono tantissimi i luoghi memorabili all'interno del parco (dall'eruzione del geyser Old Faithful ai mitici bisonti, e chi più ne ha più ne metta) che, infatti, necessita almeno di tre giorni per la sua visita. Ce n'è uno però che, supera tutto e tutti e che, se visto nel momento giusto e con i colori giusti, beh è lo spettacolo naturale che caratterizzerà il vostro viaggio all'interno del parco.

There many are the memorable places in the park, from the eruption of Old Faithful geyser to the legendary bison and it takes at least 3 days to visit it. There is a place, however, overcomes all and that, when viewed in the right time and with the right colors, well... it is the natural spectacle that characterize your journey inside the park.

Ovviamente parliamo del Grand Prismatic, la più grande sorgente d'acqua calda degli Stati Uniti.

Obviously we are talking about the Grand Prismatic, the largest hot spring of the United States.

No, non vi annoieremo sul perchè sia così, per questo c'è wikipedia e google, vi parleremo dei due modi per visitarlo.

No, we won't bored you about the origin of those beautiful colors (wikipedia and google will help you), we are going to talk about the two ways to visit it.

Il primo, il più semplice, è quello si seguire un passerella che vi porterà ad una manciata di metri dal Prismatic.

The first, the easiest, is to follow a boardwalk that will take you really close to the pool.

Ma se da una parte è la via più semplice, dall'altra non avrà sicuramente lo stesso effetto che ammirarlo dall'alto.

This is the simplest way, but it will not give you the real view. If you want to admire the Grand Prismatic with its amazing colors you need to see it from above.

E allora proseguendo verso sud per poco meno di un chilometri, fermatevi al Fairy Falls: lì un sentiero di un chilometro vi porterà a ridosso di una collinetta dalla quale potrete ammirare la piscina dall'alto.

So, heading south for a little less than a km, stop at the Fairy Falls: there is a one mile mile that will take you close to a hill: climb it and admire the pool from the top.

Non è proprio comodissimo arrampicarsi lungo questa collinetta, ma per il Prismatic questo e altro...

It is not just comfortable to climb this hill, but for the Prismatic you can do this and much more...

E, se le temperature saranno basse, potreste anche avere compagnia (solitamente nei mesi autunnali ed invernali, ed è il motivo per cui noi non li abbiamo visti attorno al Prismatic). Concorderete con noi che non mettere il Grand Prismatic nella top 3 sarebbe stato davvero impossibile...

And, if the temperatures are low, you may also see bison around the pool (usually in the autumn and winter months, this is why we didn't see them at the Prismatic). You will agree with us that do not put the Grand Prismatic in the top three would be really impossible ...
