2011 trip: sognando California (day 11, Los Angeles - part 1)

"A Los Angeles si va con qualcuno che la conosce. C'è un'enorme differenza tra chi la conosce e chi non la conosce: perchè se andate con qualcuno che la conosce, beh allora potrebbe anche essere il più grande divertimento della vostra vita. ma se ci andate da soli...è dispersiva, imprendibile. Perchè come canta Cheryl Crow 'This ain't no country club, this is L.A.'". Per raccontare la città degli angeli bisogna partire da qui, dall'incipit dell'immancabile Federico Buffa. Los Angeles non è una città come le altre, per tante cose il mondo comincia proprio qui (il cinema su tutte), ma non è facile per un turista. E' grande, troppo grande, e noi, che eravamo al primo approccio con questa città, ci siamo spesso sentiti spaesati, perchè incapaci di avere tutto a portata di mano. Ma a L.A. nulla lo è... un consiglio? Andateci, ma non rimanete troppo (2 giorni, non di più, uno per le spiagge e uno per il resto) nella città degli angeli perchè la California ha tanto altro da offrire.

" Telling about the City of Angels you need to start from here, from the input offered by Federico Buffa. Los Angeles is not a city like any other, for many things the world starts right here), but it is not easy for a tourist.It's big, too big , and we often felt disoriented during our staying in L.A. An advice? Go there, but don't stay too long (2 days , no more, one for the beaches and one for the rest  in the city of angels because California has so much more to offer.

Il nostro avventuroso viaggio ci ha portato a trovare sistemazione ad Inglewood, che eccezion fatta per gli appassionati di basket, è un nome che dice poco. Mettiamola così, è uno dei quartieri meno nobili di Los Angeles e vicinissimo all'areoporto ma noi, non sapendo tutto ciò, ci siamo fatti "influenzare" dai 27 dollari (meno di 20 euro) a notte per la camera e abbiamo pernottato lì: il Los Angeles Adventurer All Suite at Lax, che scopriamo ora essere un 2.7 su hotels.com (siamo vicini al disastro...) non lo dimenticheremo mai. Troppo divertente!

Our adventurous trip took us to find accommodation in Inglewood, one of the less noble district of Los Angeles and really close to the airport. Of course when we chose the hotel we didn't know about that, we only saw the price (27 dollars each night!!!): "Los Angeles Adventurer All Suite at Lax" was the name od the hotel. while we are writing we are discovering that is a 2.7 rate on hotels.com (close to disaster ... ): we will never forget. Too much fun !

tra probabili gangster e giovani pronti a far baldoria. Intuiamo subito che non siamo all'Hilton quando notiamo il filo spinato intorno alla struttura, che di per sè rimane comunque decisamente bella, tanto che spulciando internet non avevamo avuto dubbi. La nostra camera sembra un appartamento...

We are staying between gangsters and young people ready to have fun at night . We immediately realize that we are not at the Hilton when we notice the barbed wire around the structure, which is still quite beautiful: Our room looks like an apartment ...

e a bordo piscina è possibile a tutte le ore del giorno avere gratis pop corn, dolci etc.

and by the pool , you can at all hours of the day have free popcorn, sweets etc. .

E non è finita qui. Nel bar viene offerto un bicchiere di champagne al giorno previa fornitura di "ticket" e ovviamente documento.

And it's not over. In the barr a glass of champagne is offered every day: obviously you need tho show the free ticket and the document.

e la sera torta gratis al termine della cena o al bar.

And in the evening free cake for everything.

A proposito di cena. Buonissima e convenientissima: avremo mangiato per quattro sere con 10 dollari.

Talking about dinner... Amazing and...very cheaper: 10 dollars.

così come gli alcolici al bar: 1 dollaro per la birra, e 2.50 per i cocktail. Sarà, ma noi in questo hotel ci siamo proprio divertiti.

Tornando alle cose serie... Il primo dei tre giorni l'abbiamo dedicato a Beverly Hills, Hollywood e a tutte quelle attrazioni, diciamo così, non sulla costa. Beverly Hills è il classico quartiere "dei ricchi": nulla di più e nulla di meno di moltissimi altri in giro per gli Stati Uniti: la differenza sta nel fatto che un filo più famoso degli altri...

Going back to serious stuff ... We spend the first of the three days in Beverly Hills, Hollywood and all the closest attractions. Beverly Hills is a classic "rich neighborhood ": nothing more and nothing less than many others around the United States : the difference is that Beverly Hills is more famous than the others ...

Bellissimo però il giornale lasciato davanti alla porta di casa, classico "american style".

Rodeo Drive è la via dello shopping per ricchi e star di "Hollywood".

Rodeo Drive is the "shopping road": for rich people and Hollywood stars.

Noi che veniamo da Inglewood ci sentiamo fuori posto...

A parte gli scherzi troverete tutte le migliori marche del mondo a prezzi irreali (in negativo però), per fortuna l'Ale decide di fermarsi solamente nella "sua" Guess per la gioia di Marco...

Of course we are joking. You can find all the best brands in the world at unreal prices (expensiveeeeeeeeeee), fortunately Ale decides to stop only in "her" Guess: Marco is very happy as you can see...

che ricorderemo solo perchè abbiamo fatto i primi acquisti "angeleni". Ovviamente da H&M...
