2011 trip: sognando California - Conclusioni finali

Tremila chilometri in quindici giorni per il più affascinante degli "on the road" americani, al pari probabilmente di un coast to coast o di una Route 66. E' stata la nostra prima esperienza negli Usa ed ha riservato parecchie sorprese: per questo, prima di entrare nel dettaglio con il recap, ci sentiamo di consigliarlo (soprattutto se siete alle prime armi e poco propensi a viaggi di questo tipo) solo successivamente al trip ad est (New York, Washington e Florida il più comune). Meno chilometri in macchina, grandi città e per certi versi, mentalità un po' più "europea". Detto questo, ovest batte est 2-0. Sempre.

In un trip sulla west coast avete sostanzialmente tutto: mare (ma scordatevi il bagno...), grandi città (Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego...) deserto e montagne e soprattutto i grandi parchi: noi abbiam fatto solamente il Grand Canyon, ma Death Valley, Bryce Canyon e se vogliamo anche Antelope Canyon e Monument Valley non sono lontanissimi.

Dovessimo ricostruire un tragitto per la west coas partiremmo da Las Vegas (3 giorni), dedicandone almeno altri 3 ai parchi circostanti (Death Valley, Grand Canyon e Bryce Canyon i più vicini). Un paio di giorni per arrivare a San Francisco (con attraversamento e magari pernottamento allo Yosemite National Park). San Francisco è senza dubbio una delle città più affascinanti degli interi Stati Uniti (3 giorni), mentre gli ultimi 4 degli ipotetici 15 giorni sulla costa ovest li spenderemmo tra Highway 1 (la strada che da San Francisco ti porta a L.A.) e Los Angeles. E se nei parchi siete rimasti meno dei tre giorni che vi abbiamo consigliato, ci sarebbe spazio anche per la deliziosa San Diego.



Three thousand miles in 15 days the most charming of the american "on the road ". Probably only a coast to coast or the Route 66 can be compared to the west coast trip. It was our first experience in the U.S. and has reserved many surprises : for this reason, before going into detail with the recap, we would like to recommend it (especially if you are a beginner) do to this trip after the east coast trip (New York, Washington and Florida the most common). Fewer miles in the car, big cities and in some ways , mentality a little more European. But west coast offers much more...

In a trip on the west coast you have basically everything : sea, big cities (Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego ... ) desert and mountains, and above all the great parks: we only did the Grand Canyon, but Death Valley, Bryce Canyon and if we also want to Antelope Canyon and Monument Valley are not far away.

If we have to rebuild a route for the west coas we will start from Las Vegas (3 days), then at least 3 days between the parks (Death Valley, Grand Canyon and Bryce Canyon closest ) . A couple of days to get to San Francisco (crossing the Yosemite National Park). San Francisco is without a doubt one of the most fascinating cities in the entire United States (3 days) , whilewe would spend the last 4 of the hypothetical 15 days on the west coast  between Highway 1 (the road that takes you from San Francisco to LA ) and Los Angeles . And if you have saved time, also San Diego worth a visit.
