XMAS in Florida (day 10, it's christmas day!)

E' il giorno di Natale e c'è una certa curiosità nel vedere come una grande città affronterà una giornata così importante e se, soprattutto, saremo gli unici ad essere in giro per le sue vie. Il nostro di Natale è proiettato su un unico grande evento, la partita Nba (Miami Heat - Cleveland Cavaliers) che monopolizzerà il tardo pomeriggio. Per questo, dopo essercela presa comoda ed assaggiato il nuovissimo e favoloso "cronut" di Dunkin Donuts (metà ciambella, metà croissant)...

It's Christmas day and there is a certain curiosity about how a big city will face a day so important and then... will us be alone or there will be other tourists? Our Christmas day is strictly connected to the Nba game: the match against Miami Heat and Cleveland Cavaliers is the reason why we are here! So, our day starts with the new and delicious "Cronut" by Dunkin Donuts (half donut, half croissants)...

and then we can finally head to downtown.

Approfitteremo per rivisitarla, dopo l'esperienza del 2012, sfruttando la partita di basket che andrà in scena proprio da quelle parti, alla American Airlines Arena. Non sbagliamo la scelta, anche perchè oggi Miami è tutta qui, o almeno tutti i turisti. E' tutto aperto, ristoranti e negozi e, a dirla tutta, non sembra neppure Natale.

The Nba game at the American Airlines Arena is the opportunity to visit downtown again (the first time was in 2012). This choice won't be wrong, because all the people, especially tourists, are there. Everything is open: restaurants, shops... to be honest, it doesn't seem to be the Christmas day.

Sono solo le 11 e la partita è alle 17, dobbiam trovare il modo di allungare un pochino i tempi prima di tuffarci nel centro commerciale all'aperto di Bayside. E non possono bastare i 10 minuti "persi" in un hotel di lusso (ed enorme) che sfruttiamo per i nostri "bisognini".

It's just 11 am and the game is at 5 pm, we absolutely have to find something to do before visiting the Bayside Outdoor Mall. We do "number 1" in a luxury and huge hotel, but that's not enough. We need something more...

La ricerca effettuata la sera prima su internet ci aveva "regalato" la "Metromover", ovvero una sorta di monorotaia gratuita che permette di visitare downtown.

The survey we made the evening before has given us the "Metromover", a sort of free monorail which takes visitors inside downtown.

Non ci lasciamo scappare l'occasione e, dopo aver scelto il loop a parer nostro più interessante (il Brickell), saliamo a bordo (fermata Bayfront park) e per un'oretta buona giriamo senza una meta lungo la downtown tra grattacieli e uffici.

We really can't miss it!. After choosing the loop that in our opinion is the most interesting (the Brickell), we climb aboard (stop at Bayfront park) spend an hour along downtown between offices and skycrapers.

Dobbiamo essere onesti, è vero che è gratuita, ma non è nulla d'imperdibile soprattutto in un giorno in cui downtown è sostanzialmente vuota.

We have to be honest, it is true that the Metromover is free, but it is nothing special, especially in a day when downtown is basically empty.

Ma se doveste capitare da quelle parti con tanto tempo a disposizione oppure in una giornata di pioggia, la Metromover potrebbe davvero essere la vostra ancora di salvataggio.

But if you are in downtown and have time to spend there or if it's a rainy day, Metromover could really save you.

Tornati a Bayside tra una passeggiata e l'altra arriviamo nel Bayside Marketplace, caratterizzato da negozi, ristoranti, fast food e locali.

Back in Bayside we visit the Marketplace with its shops, restaurants, fast food and pub.

Nell'aria si respira... Nba e anche la televisione, la gloriosa Espn, è alla caccia di tifosi a cui chiedere un parere sul ritorno di Lebron James (il più forte giocatore della Lega) a Miami contro la sua ex squadra. E chi vanno a prendere? Ovviamente Marco che, detto tra di noi, non vedeva l'ora di finire sulla televisione sportiva nazionale più importante degli interi Stati Uniti.

In the air you breathe ... NBA and even television, the glorious ESPN, is hunting for fans and for an opinion about return of Lebron James (the best player in the league) in Miami against his former team. Who do they stop? Obviously Marco. He ca't wait to finish on the most important national sports television of the entire United States.

Il pomeriggio scorre via e finalmente è "game time".

The afternoon goes by and finally it's "game time".

La "triple A" arena apre i battenti, ci vengono regalati una maglietta celebrativa e degli aggeggi per fare un po' di rumore: all'Ale viene anche sequestrata la macchina fotografica (che le verrà riconsegnata alla fine) perchè troppo grande (?), ma non sarà questo a fermarci anche perchè l'ale ha la digitale sempre in borsa, quindi le foto si faranno lo stesso!!

The "triple A" arena opens its doors, we receive T-shirt and a gadgets that makes noise: a huge guys even says to Ale that she can't keep with her the camera because is too big (?). But nothing can't stop us, also because Ale brings always in her bag the digital camera, so pictures will be taken as well!

Non ci dilunghiamo troppo sul basket giocato e sull'atmosfera come sempre elettrizzante, una menzione particolare però la merita il mini show dell'intervallo con protagonista il cantante Flo Rida per la gioia dell'Ale.

We won't talk about the game and the atmosphere: as always everything is amazing! But the halftime show deserves to be mentioned, 15 minutes with the singer Flo Rida... Ale is really excited.

Terminato il match decidiamo di rimanere a Bayside anche perchè, se possibile, il casino ci sembra addirittura aumentato.

After the game we decide to stay at Bayside also because the mess here is even increased.

Il nostro obiettivo è sperimentare per la prima volta il fast food Five Guys, ma è l'unico locale ad essere clamorosamente chiuso. Scegliamo allora di "splittare" delle buonissime ribs all'Hard Rock Cafè che, com'è o come non è, finisce sempre per essere la nostra scelta.

Out goal is to experience for the first time the fast food named Five Guys, but this is the only restaurant closed in the area. So we decide to split delicius ribs at the Hard Rock Cafè. In the end it always ends up being our choice...
